NVT Introduces 568B-Compliant, RJ45 Video-Input Passive Hubs

Distributed Power-Video-Data for CCTV Applications

March 30, 2005 — Menlo Park, CA

Network Video Technologies (NVT) today announced that it has introduced a full range of passive video transmission hubs featuring RJ45 connectivity that are specifically designed for installers specializing in implementing digital-ready structured cabling systems in accordance with structured cabling standard EIA/TIA 568B. These new RJ45 video-input passive hubs let end-users and installers employ new or existing unshielded twisted pair wire (UTP) to deliver a high quality picture while cutting costs and simplifying installation versus standard coaxial cable.

"Installers are increasingly demanding a 568B standards-based connectivity solution," emphasizes Guy Apple, Vice President of Network Video Technologies (NVT). "They want the quickest, most modern way of connecting NVT equipment within their cabling plant so we designed our product range with RJ45 connectivity."

The new NVT 568B-compliant, RJ45 video-input passive hubs now let installers standardize their structured cabling in accordance with 568B wiring protocols, reduce installation time, and fully prepare the plant wiring for future digital systems when desired. The NVT hubs deliver implementation flexibilities for installers, who can select among the 8-channel NV-813J, 16-channel NV-1613J, and 32-channel NV-3213J rack-mountable hubs with RJ45 video inputs for passive-to-passive multi-channel applications under 750 feet and passive-to-active multi-channel applications up to 3000 feet.

According to Apple, these new hubs solve problems that installers face on a daily level. Coaxial cable is more difficult to install than UTP wire in most video transmission applications, resulting in higher labor charges and larger quotes for customers. In addition, coax systems do not comply with structured standards-based protocols such as 568B while UTP wire does. Contrary to coax, NVT's UTP video solutions also provide an ultimate migration pathway to an all-digital solution.

NVT will exhibit the new RJ45 hubs at the ISC West Exposition, Booth 16085, in Las Vegas, April 6-8.

NVT Introduces Full RJ45 Connectivity

Active and Passive Video Transmission Products with RJ45 Connectivity

March 8, 2005 — Menlo Park, CA

Network Video Technologies (NVT) today announced that it has introduced a full range of video transmission products featuring RJ45 connectivity, designed specifically for installers experienced with structured cabling systems. NVT's UTP transceivers allow the use of new or existing unshielded twisted pair wire (UTP), letting end-users and installers deliver a high quality picture while cutting costs and simplifying installation.

"In most video transmission applications, coaxial cable is more difficult to install, resulting in higher labor charges. More and more, we were running into installers who wanted a 568B standards-based connectivity solution".

They recognized the importance of reduced installation time and a fully-prepared cable plant for future digital systems," emphasizes Guy Apple, Vice President of Network Video Technologies (NVT).

NVT now offers 4-, 8-, 16- and 32-channel rack-mountable units with RJ45 video inputs for passive-to-passive multi-channel applications under 750 feet and passive-to-active multi-channel applications up to 3000 feet. The 8- and 16-channel active hubs also feature a built-in DA output, with quad or dual outputs per channel (respectively). As a result, the new 1U tall, DA receiver hubs use rack-mount space more efficiently and enable easier integration into head-end systems, yielding savings on the equipment and installation time over standalone DAs.

"These new NVT transceivers are fully compatible with DVR technology and provide fully adjustable HF and LF gain controls," adds Apple. "They are compatible with 568B premise wiring standards, allowing easy future migration to an all-digital solution."

NVT will exhibit the new RJ45 solutions at the ISC West Exposition, Booth 16085, in Las Vegas, April 6-8.

NVT's New UTP CCTV Power-Video-Data Product Cuts Costs/Saves Time at Installation

NV-218A-PVD Incorporates Transceiver Engine With Added Value of Power, Video and Data Connections to and from Camera

September 16, 2004 — Menlo Park, CA

Network Video Technologies today announced that its new unshielded twisted pair wire (UTP) CCTV power-video-data product, the NV-218A-PVD, incorporates the transceiver engine of NVT's popular NV-213A video transceiver to allow a direct video output connection from the camera. This innovative new product adds power and data connections to and from the camera.

“The unparalleled interference rejection and low emissions of the NV-218A-PVD let video signals co-exist in the same wire bundle as telephone, datacom, or low-voltage power circuits,” emphasizes Guy Apple, NVT vice president, marketing and sales.

“This allows the use of a shared or existing cable plant, reducing costs and time of installation. As with all NVT products, the NV-218A-PVD carries a limited lifetime warranty and is UL and cUL listed.”With the new NV-218A-PVD, power, video and data are routed via UTP and RJ45 or 'press-fit' terminal block inputs/outputs.

When used at the camera, the passive NV-218A-PVD has a 9-inch mini-coax pigtail lead for direct video output connection from the camera.Alongside the coax lead are two sets of “press-fit” terminal blocks for quick pass-through connections for the camera’s power and data. On the “house” or output side of the product, installers have the option of deploying convenient “press-fit” UTP connectors or the more efficient RJ45.

NVT's transmitters, transceivers, receivers and hubs allow the use of new or existing unshielded twisted pair wire, Category 2 or better, for video transmission. This allows end-users and installers to deliver a high quality picture over the same wire used by phone systems while simultaneously cutting costs and simplifying installation.

NVT's New UTP CCTV Transceiver Allows In-Camera Enclosure Mounting

Uses Shared or Existing Cable Plant; Provides Cost Savings and Easier Intallation

August 18 — Menlo Park, CA

MENLO PARK, CA – August 18, 2004

Network Video Technologies today announced the availability of its new UTP CCTV transceiver, the NV-214A-M, which lowers costs and speeds installation time. The passive NV-214A-M has a 9-inch mini-coax pigtail lead that allows in-camera enclosure mounting in most dome cameras and a greater number of mounting options at both ends of the system. It also delivers a fully equalized signal to a digital video recorder when used with any active NVT receiver, yet is compatible with all of NVT's passive products for applications under 750 feet.

"The unparalleled interference rejection and low emissions of the NV-214A-M let video signals co-exist in the same wire bundle as telephone, datacom, or low-voltage power circuits," emphasizes Guy Apple, NVT vice president, marketing and sales. "This permits the use of a shared or existing cable plant, resulting in significant cost savings and greatly simplifying installation."

This new transceiver is an improvement over NVT's popular NV-213A video transceiver. The NV-214A-M Transceiver also incorporates improved transient protection, eliminating the need for a ground screw. As with all NVT products, the NV-214A carries a limited lifetime warranty and is UL and cUL listed.

NVT's transmitters, transceivers, receivers and hubs allow the use of new or existing unshielded twisted pair wire (UTP), Category 2 or better, for video transmission. This allows end-users and installers to deliver a high quality picture over the same wire used by phone systems while simultaneously cutting costs and simplifying installation.

Network Video Technologies (NVT) is the leader in CCTV transmission over dedicated unshielded twisted-pair telephone wire.
